Build Your First App with AI in Under 10 Minutes

8 min readJanuary 10, 2026By Spawned Team

Walk through building your first web app using Spawned. No coding experience needed, just describe what you want.

What You'll Build

In this guide, you'll create a fully functional web app using just plain English descriptions. No coding experience required. By the end, you'll have a working app you can share with anyone.

Step 1: Describe Your Idea

Head to the builder and type what you want to create. Be specific about:

  • What the app does - "A task manager where users can create, complete, and delete tasks"
  • The look and feel - "Clean, minimal design with a blue color scheme"
  • Key features - "Users should be able to filter by completed/incomplete"

The more detail you give, the better your result. Think of it like explaining your idea to a developer who has never heard of it before.

Step 2: Review and Refine

After a few seconds, you'll see your app appear in the preview. Look it over and ask yourself:

  • Does it do what I wanted?
  • Is anything missing?
  • Does the design feel right?

If something's off, just tell the AI what to change. "Make the header larger" or "Add a dark mode toggle" work great.

Step 3: Add Interactivity

Your app already works, but you might want to add more features:

  • User accounts - "Add login and signup with email"
  • Data storage - "Save tasks to a database so they persist"
  • Payments - "Add a subscription with Stripe"

Each of these takes one prompt. The AI handles the technical details.

Step 4: Launch

When you're happy with your app:

  1. Click Export to push to GitHub
  2. Deploy to Vercel with one click
  3. Connect your custom domain

Your app is now live and accessible to anyone in the world.

Tips for Better Results

Start simple. Build the core feature first, then add complexity. A task manager that works is better than a project management suite that doesn't.

Be specific about design. "Modern" means different things to different people. Try "Clean design with lots of white space, Inter font, subtle shadows" instead.

Iterate in small steps. Change one thing at a time. If you ask for five changes at once and something breaks, it's harder to figure out what went wrong.
