Make Your Landing Page Look Good

6 min readJanuary 10, 2026By Spawned Team

How to change colors, fonts, and layout to match your brand. Simple tweaks that make a big difference.

Why Design Matters

Your landing page is often the first thing people see. A polished design builds trust and makes visitors more likely to sign up or buy. The good news: you don't need to be a designer to make something that looks professional.

Colors

The easiest way to improve any design is to nail the color palette. Here's how:

Pick a primary color that fits your brand. Blue for trust, green for health/money, orange for energy. Avoid using more than 2-3 colors total.

Ask the AI directly: "Change the primary color to a deep navy blue (#1e3a5f) with gold accents (#d4af37)"

Use contrast wisely. Dark text on light backgrounds is easiest to read. Save bright colors for buttons and important elements.

Typography

Most AI-generated sites use clean, modern fonts. But you can customize:

  • "Use Playfair Display for headings and Lato for body text"
  • "Make the hero headline bigger and bolder"
  • "Increase line height in paragraphs for better readability"

Layout

Hero section - This is the top of your page. It should immediately tell visitors what you do and why they should care. Ask for "a hero with a large headline, subtext, and a call-to-action button."

Social proof - Testimonials, logos, or stats build trust. "Add a section with 3 customer testimonials in cards."

Features - Show what makes you different. "Create a 3-column feature grid with icons."

CTA - End with a clear next step. "Add a final section with a signup form and 'Get Started Free' button."

Mobile Optimization

Over half of web traffic is mobile. Check your preview on different screen sizes:

  • "Make sure the navigation collapses to a hamburger menu on mobile"
  • "Stack the feature columns vertically on smaller screens"
  • "Increase button size on mobile for easier tapping"

Quick Wins

These small changes make a big difference:

  1. Add breathing room - "Increase padding and margins throughout"
  2. Soften edges - "Use rounded corners on cards and buttons"
  3. Add subtle shadows - "Add soft drop shadows to cards"
  4. Use real images - "Replace placeholder images with relevant photos"
